Vonn posts fastest World Cup training run
Lindsey Vonn posted the fastest time in Wednesday’s training run for the Bombardier Lake Louise World Cup. Vonn stood up before the finish line, yet her time of 1 minute, 52.30 seconds was better than Austrian Maria Holaus, who finished in 1:52.70. Holaus was fastest in Tuesday’s training run.

Jonsson wins opening biathlon World Cup event
Defending overall champion Helena Jonsson led a Swedish double Wednesday in the opening biathlon World Cup event of the season. Jonsson missed one shot at the third shooting range in her home event and finished the women’s 15-kilometer race in 43 minutes, 01.4 seconds. Teammate Anna Carin Olofsson-Zidek missed two targets and finished second, 26.2 seconds behind.
